Top Tier Angler of the Month

Carson Palmer

Carson Palmer Angler of The Month

One of 2 high school anglers to win Top Tier Angler of the Month for April, goes to Carson Palmer. Carson Palmer and his partner Harrison McCall are just coming off a huge state Championship win at High Rock Lake in North Carolina.  The duo brought in a 5 fish limit weighing in at 18-06 pounds to bring home the win. This outstanding tournament win was not the first for Carson, he and is partner also won the state championship in 2019 and Carson also was nominated as a high school Bassmaster All-American in 2020.  When we asked Carson, what contributed to his success he responded by saying,” I think what helped me get nominated for All-American was the community serves I put in and the emphasis that I put in academics. My success came 50/50 from the lake and the classroom because you can not get into college without the grades. Also, time on the water is one of the most important things you need when it comes to be a good angler.” Carson also contributed his success to his parents and Top Tier for his exposure.  Carson plans to continue his fishing career at Carson Newman University.

Hunter Keller

Hunter Keller Angler of The Month

The second of the two high school anglers to win Top Tier Angler of the Month for April, goes to Hunter Keller.  Hunter Keller and his partner Daniel Brackett also fish in the same division as Carson Palmer.  The duo managed to catch a 5 fish limit for 17-07 to secure a 2nd place fishing at the North Carolina high school state championship at High Rock Lake.  Not only did Hunter have a strong finish at the state championship, but he was also nominated as a high school Bassmaster All-American for the 2021 season. When asked what contributed to his success Hunter responded by saying,” This was an unbelieve opportunity for me to finish high enough to be listed with such an unbelievable group of guys. This is a once and a lifetime deal for me and I owe a huge part to Top Tier for posting me and getting my name out there. I spent hours with map study and researching different ways to catch them based on the season.  I took it way more seriously than the majority of high school guys and would practice and prepare for a lake just like a pro would.  I also put it in god’s hand and had the mindset that when its your time it’s your time.” Hunter also just signed with Catawba Valley Community College to continue his fishing career at the college level. Hunter contributes his success to his parents, God and Top Tier Fishing.
